Constructed Image: 4 digital files due November 12
Constructed Image Assignment:
200 points
Final Prints Due November 12
1. Rough Sketch of your four images due in class Thursday, November 7th. On a sheet of paper, draw 4 squares and draw the concept for your photo series, (can be stick figures.) The idea behind this project is that you should have the photo taken in your mind before you even get the camera involved.
Include on this rough sketch the type of lighting you will use, your color scheme, your lens choice and your short elevator pitch for what this project means.
In the semester's past, students have come up with constructed images where they do things like recreating dreams, build miniature sets, take portraits of people reacting to a trigger (such as eating spicy food, or responding to a compliment from the photographer), recreating fairy tales in the woods, creating composite images of people merged with technology...etc.
Objective: To build or construct portraits or scenarios that don't exist in real life and photograph them. These 4 photos must be a SERIES, meaning we must see the connection of ideas and concepts. STREET PHOTOGRAPHY or Casual portraits WILL NOT WORK for this assignment.
Below are some links to lectures and slides that will help you with ideas for your project.
